Carmine Cordell Whetstone earthly journey began on February 12th, 1975, in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of Leonard Henderson and Alice Whetstone Oden. Carmine accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.
Carmine received his formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated from Childersburg High School, with the class of 93. He continued his education and graduated from Central Alabama Community College (CACC) with an associate degree in Occupation Tech – Welding Tech.
Carmine enlisted in the United States Army in 1993 and he received his honorable discharge in 1999. From there he picked up the trade of Welding.
Carmine departed this walk of life on October 7th, 2022, under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Henderson and Alice Marie Whetstone Oden, son, Devontae Whetstone, grandparents, Kelly Charles and Ella Whetstone, and Cora Lee Henderson, aunt, Curlene Henderson.
His love will forever be cherished by a loving spouse, Jami Skelton of Goodwater, AL; children, Teauna Morgan of Nashville, Tenn, Desmond Battle of Montgomery, AL, Destiny Holmes of Sylacauga, AL; one granddaughter, Ensley Holmes of Sylacauga, AL; sisters, Shanika Whetstone of Sylacauga, AL, Toya Henderson of Birmingham, AL, Tamara Henderson of Birmingham, AL, and April Whetstone of Sylacauga, AL; aunts, Gussie Murray, Delois Slaughter, Joyce Pope all of Sylacauga, AL, Lorene Whetstone of West Palm Beach, FL, Roberta Whetstone of Baltimore, MD, and Willie Lee Weldon of Gainesville, GA; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
