Carmen was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel, delFino and Louie Villegas and a sister Lupe Hernandez.
She is survived by one brother Salvador Villegas and wife Josie and their children. She has one granddaughter, Michele Stephenson and children. Nephew Rich Villegas and wife Jeanette. Nieces Norma Northcutt and husband Les and their children and grandchildren, Brenda Wojcik, Cidny Villegas and Toni Barmore and Irene Hernandez and children.
Carmen worked as a nurse at Oakland hospital for 25 years and part time for Dr. Stephen Post until she was 85. She volunteered many years for the USS Hornet, worked Alameda voting polls and held offices in many women’s organizations.
Carmen loved playing gin rummy, traveling the world and wanted to see Ireland on her next adventure.
The last four years she had to leave her home in Alameda and resided at the Villa San Ramon close to her nephew Rich who took great care of her and she was very happy. She made new friends and enjoyed the loving staff at the Villa. Carmen enjoyed their bus trips, movies, bingo, having her hair done and happy hour!
Carmen will be remembered by her friends and family. Rest in Peace Miss Carmen. We love you.
