Carmen Tammy Lynn Vallie, 19, of Red Lake, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Red Lake Hospital. Carmen was born February 12, 1993 in Bemidji, MN the daughter of Michael Vallie and Shirley Benais.

Carmen loved spending time with her son and her family.  She often traveled out west to visit her uncles and cousins.  Carmen just graduated from High School on June 7, 2012 and was looking forward to going to college in Bemidji in the fall.  She really liked her job as a life guard at the Thief River Falls Water park.  Carmen was always helping people in need.  One of her favorite past times was cooking.  Carmen will be sadly missed by all her relatives and friends.

Carmen is preceded in death by her father Michael Vallie, brother Damian Strong, grandfathers Daniel Vallie and Albert Benais, Sr., grandmother Josephine Benais, uncles Billy and Dorsey Vallie, an aunt Marian Smith and a cousin Gary Smith, Jr.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son Aaron Michael Thompson of Redby, mother; Shirley Barrett of Redby, grandmother; Gladys Vallie of Belcourt, ND, sisters; Danielle Vallie, Michelle Knitter, Kerri and Mercedes LaFountain, Cheryl Smith and Nicole Lajeunnesse all of Redby, brothers; Giles Strong of Maine, Gary and Vincent LaFountain and Luke Lajeunnesse all of Redby, brother-in-law; Dale Sigana, aunties; Valerie and Gale Vallie of Belcourt, ND, Jean Benais of Red Lake, Karen Lajeunnesse of Red Lake, Delores Fineday of Pennington and Alena Hrabcakova of CA., uncles; Dan (Janelle) Vallie of Bismarck, ND, Melvin Vallie of Belcourt, ND, Albert Sr. II, Peter and Bobby Benais all of Red Lake, many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
