Carmen (Soto) Rivera, 96, of Brooklyn, NY and formerly of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 2, 2019 while in the care of the Caton Park Nursing Home, Brooklyn. She was the loving wife of the late Leopoldo Rivera. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro and Carmen (Adames) Soto. Carmen worked various jobs as a factory worker until her children were born and she became a housewife. For many years she had a Produce Stand at the Moore Street Market in Brooklyn. Carmen was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Elizabeth Cruz and her husband Angel of Brooklyn, NY; son Leopoldo Rivera, Jr. and his wife Gladys of Waldorf, MD; sister Milagros “Millie” Soto of Bethlehem; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Carmen was preceded in death by her son Efrain Soto, Sr. and his wife Daisy; grandson Efrain Soto, Jr. and her siblings Isabel, Hipolito, Ramon, Israel and Pedro.
