Carmen A. (Lingenfelter) Powell passed away peacefully October 15, 2013, one week after her 99th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents; Bert A. Lingenfelter and Edith Wiley Lingenfelter; her sister, Doris Jones Tengler; two brothers: Carl and L. Spencer Lingenfelter, and her husband of 73 years, Harold S. Powell. A life-long resident of Watertown, NY, Carmen was active in several civic clubs and a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. In her earlier years she enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Ontario, and playing golf well up into her 90″s. After retirement she and Harold wintered in Delray Beach, Florida, prior to taking up residence in the Ives Hill Retirement Community in Watertown. After the passing of her husband, Carmen moved to Boerne, Texas to be near her family, residing at Heritage Place since 2008 and most recently at the Menger Springs Kendall House. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hines, Amelia Island, FL; son David (Gail), Boerne; and son Mark (Sandra) of Buckeye, AZ. She also leaves seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
