COLEBROOK -CHATFIELD – Carmela N. Chatfield, 90, passed away on January 28, 2016 at home with her daughter by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Frederick Chatfield for 66 years. Born January 24, 1926 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Carmine and Grace (Pignato) English before residing in Colebrook. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Fred Chatfield Appliance and Stained Glass in Winsted. Carmela leaves behind her daughter, Diana Chatfield of Colebrook; granddaughter, Terri Villarouel-Huey of San Marcos, California; great grandsons, Brandin Villarouel and Bryce Frederick Huey; and a brother, Eugene English of Sandisfield, MA. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Angelo and Jack English and three sisters, Annie English, Grace Maloney and Rose Tkacs. Carmela’s family would like to thank the Foothills VNA, especially Jennifer Gannon, Ella Moritis, Patricia Ferreira and Angela Root for their compassionate care and support.
