Carmela graduated from Greenwich High School in 1949.  After her marriage to husband William in 1951, they resided in Stamford until 1992 when they moved to Milford, CT to be closer to her grandsons.  She had various manufacturing, domestic, and caregiver positions.  Carmela was a devout Catholic and had a strong faith.  She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, viewing old movies, Italian music, Mets baseball games, and attending her grandsons’ sports.  Carmela enjoyed cooking and baking Italian meals and was known for her homemade apple pies, anisette cookies, meatballs and stuffed cabbage.

Carmela is survived by her daughters; Susan (Paul) Slattery of Milford, CT and Angela Micik of Crandall, GA; two grandsons Matthew (Laura) Slattery of New Canaan, CT and David (Agata) Slattery of Trumbull, CT; three great granddaughters, Autumn, Izabella, and Natalia, many beloved nieces and nephews, and longtime friends Millie Dorazio and Marguerite Politano.  In addition to her husband, Carmela was predeceased by her brothers; Rocco (Stella) Magarone and Michael Magarone and sisters Rose Magarone, Louise (John) Micik, and Viola (Nicholas) Lagronegro.
