Carma Lorraine (Hershey) Todd passed away on November 5, 2021, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her children by her side.

She was born on July 24, 1937, to Clayton and Naomi Hershey of Bristow, Iowa. She had two brothers, Gerald Hershey and Gaylene Hershey, and one sister, Ardith Hershey.

Carma went to Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri where she earned a teaching degree. She later moved to Denver, Colorado to be close with her sister. She married Kenneth Todd in October of 1960 in Denver where they had two children together. They later moved to Leadville, Colorado in 1966 where she taught at West Park Elementary School for 30 years. She moved on once more to Florence, Colorado in 2004 with her longtime friend and partner, Edward VanWestenberg, who passed away in 2014.

Carma loved taking road trips with her children during the summer break from teaching. She always loved to sing especially for Potluck and Jam at the Florence Community/Senior Center on Friday nights. She also enjoyed writing the Senior Corner article for the Florence Citizen, reading a lot, bowling, going to bingo, delivering Meals on Wheels, and an occasional trip to Cripple Creek with her friends.

Carma is survived by her son, Mark Todd; daughter, Michelle Todd Lach; grandson, Brandon Todd; and several nieces and nephews.
