C. W. “Dick” Hallett
June 29, 1936 – August 6, 2021
Dick passed away on August 6th after a long battle with congestive heart failure, his wife of 55 years (Jo Ann) by his side.
Dick was born in a small coal-mining town near Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he learned to fly fish and snow ski. He was an accomplished water skier as well, but his passion was for traveling. It started with the 4 years he served in the Navy where he traveled throughout the Pacific rim. Later, he and his wife traveled much of the world, a highlight being a trip on the Orient Express Train from Budapest to Victoria Station in London, England.
Dick graduated from St. Joseph High School in Denver, Colorado. After returning from the Navy, he attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He then spent 32 years in the Public Works Department of Denver before retiring and moving to Canon City, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Mildred Hallett.
