WILMINGTON – Carlvin Von Steed, III, 60, of Wilmington, NC, died Saturday, October 22, 2011, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Carlvin was born April 23, 1951 in High Point, NC, son of the late Carlvin Steed, Jr. and Shirley Mignonette Crawford Steed. Mr. Steed was a graduate of High Point University. He retired from Alltel as Vice-President after 34 years of service. Carlvin attended Port City Community Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of Pine Valley Country Club. He had a smile that brightened any room, loved his family, and had a heart of gold.
He is survived by his wife, Karen N. Steed; three children, Andrew Von Steed of High Point, NC, and Corey Turral-Steed and Lexi Nicole Steed, both of Wilmington; three sisters, Carlvena Foster (Otis), Mary A. Royal and Devona R. Steed, all of High Point, NC; and two aunts, Fonda S. Crawford of Durham, NC, and Gloria Strickland of High Point, NC.
