DURHAM- Mr. Carlton Frederick Gooch, Sr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
Mr. Gooch was born on October 17, 1933 to Herman and Alda Gooch in Knightdale, NC. Carlton proudly served three years in the United States Navy, then served 38 years with the Durham Fire Department. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 7. He loved his family, as well as his fire department and American Legion friends. Carlton will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Mr. Gooch was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alda Gooch, three brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Doris Wayne Crabtree Gooch; son, Carlton F. “Butch” Gooch, Jr. (Susan) of Creedmoor, NC; and grandchildren, Brandi G. Hasty (Josh) of Greenville, NC, and Candice Gooch (Tim) of Falls Church, VA.
