Carlos “Carly” Edward Moore, age 52, passed away in his home on December 1, 2019. He was born February 26, 1967 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Carlos Moore and the late Cilla Jean Lawson. He was a resident of Michigan for the entirety of his adult life.

A true jack of all trades, Carly found work in lawn maintenance and, most recently, as a townhome and condominium maintenance supervisor. His “work smart, not hard” attitude and his enduring work ethic were two of his strengths in everything he did.

When he was not working, Carly enjoyed camping, fishing, grilling, or even just relaxing at home. The true blessings in his life were his family. He would often have his grandsons accompany his wife, daughter, and him on camping trips or trips to visit family in the South. An avid motorcyclist, a trait he passed to both of his sons, Carly relished the open road and the feeling of his Harley Davidson cruising on the street.

Carly was preceded in death by his mother. Surviving him is Tracy Moore, his wife since August 14th, 2009. He is also survived by his children: Ryan Tompkins, Melissa Leffew-Moore, Andrew Moore, and Heaven Prescott; he is survived by two grandsons, Jaiden Leffew and Ryan Tompkins II, his second mother by bond, Patricia Leffew, and Tina Leffew, the mother of Melissa and Andrew. Finally, he is survived by his younger siblings: Lisa Moore, Kristie Macomber, Jason Slone, Joseph Slone, and Amanda Slone.

He will be remembered for his selflessness, his wise-cracking, sarcastic humor, and the presence that was felt when he was in the room. A world without him is wanting, but profoundly blessed to have had him.
