Carlene Pope, age 79, of Rockmart, formerly of Powder Springs, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was born on April 13, 1929 in Woodville, AL to the late Wiley and Mollie Whitaker. She had worked as a librarian in Powder Springs and was a substitute teacher at several schools in Cobb County.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael & Terri Pope of Marietta and Steve & Stacy Pope of Rockmart; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Tony Whittenburg of Rockmart; a sister, Vivian Kennamer of Lake Mary, FL; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
