Carlene Elwood, 81, passed away March 8, 2022. Carlene was born December 31, 1940, in Des Moines, IA, to Carl and Patricia (Searcy) Berglund.
Carlene was an Artist and worked for Artistic Manufacturing. She also worked Des Moines Public Schools in the cafeteria for many years. She was very artistic and loved to dance and listen to music. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling many places in the United States. She was known to visit the buffet at “The Meadows”. Carlene played many a game of pool and was pretty good at it. Carlene loved her dogs over the years and her family the most.
Carlene is survived by her grandchildren, Shane (Kayla) Ginther of Des Moines, IA, Shannon (Cole) McVey, Danny (Cristina) Morgan, Zach Morgan; great-grandchildren, Chris (Haylie) Ginther, Hailey Meyer, Monti McVey, Caedon McVey, Spencer McVey, Kasen Krengel. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Berglund, mother, Patricia Searcy, son, Jim Ginther, daughter, Shelly Ginther.
