Carleen Matthews Barrow, 82, of 159 Riverview Court, Martinsville, VA died Saturday, March 21, 2010 at her home. She was born on March 16, 1928 in Rockingham County, NC to the late William Commodore Matthews and Cornelia Arthur Matthews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyett Leonard Barrow, Sr.; one brother and four sisters. Mrs. Barrow was a member of the Starling Avenue Baptist Church and had previously worked for E. I. DuPont, Inc. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Barrow Barbour and husband, Glenn of South Hill, VA and Joyce Barrow Davis and husband, Jamie of Duluth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Len Barrow and wife, Bonnie of Martinsville, VA; twin sister, Marleen M. Holland Axton, VA; sisters, Barbara A. Matthews and Dale M. Barrow both of Martinsville, VA; six grandchildren, Chad Barbour, Hunter Barbour, Tyler Davis, Callie Davis, Britney Barrow and Cabell Barrow; one great-grandchild, Chancellor Barbour and one step-great-grandchild, Alyssa Brame.
