Carle R. Alward, 81, passed away Thursday July 11, 2013 in Franklin, Indiana. He was a resident of Franklin.
Carle was born July 28,1931 in Nortondale, Province of New Brunswick, Canada to Bliss Wilmont and Evelyn Annie (Sharpe) Alward.
He married Shirley Grant on August 14, 1960, in Canada; they were married for 52 years.
Carle was employed as a manager for Woodland Manor Senior Housing. He was a full-time minister (pioneer) and active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ontario, New Brunswick , Calais, Maine, and Franklin, Indiana.
He loved gardening, animals of all sorts, and spending time with his family. He was an avid reader, especially of the scriptures.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Alward of Franklin, three children, Timothy C. (Laumonda) Alward and Kenneth A.(Kaylea) Alward both of Texas, and Selah L. (Perry) Newlon of New Whiteland, a brother, Arthur Alward of Ontario, eight grandchildren, Benford B. Morgan, Ethan, Everett, Kennedi and Kaylin Alward, Amanda Harris, Ashley and Tyler Newlon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Eden Morgan, and three sisters, Marjorie, Dorothy, and Bertha.
