Carl A. Wolfe, Sr., 92, of Swansea, IL, formerly of Lehighton, PA, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Carl was a member and also sang in the choir at Zion United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Schuylkill County Coal Cracker Barber Shop Chorus, a lifetime member of Lehighton Fire Company #1, an avid hunter and sportsman. Carl retired in 1977 after 30 years as a driver for Interstate Dress Carriers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence J. and Mame, nee Frantz, Wolfe., a grandson Benjamin J Wolfe, a brother EJ Wolfe and sisters; Lorraine Thomas, Valeince Brewster, Lois Marlowe, Janice Brandt and Joan Drofich. Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Beatrice, nee Serfass, Wolfe, whom he married on June 9, 1945 in Bowmanstown, PA, a daughter Carla J. (Craig) Weiss of Swansea, IL, a son Carl A. (Lynda) Wolfe Jr. of Lehighton, PA, grandchildren Christopher, Andrea and Alexander Wolfe, and Carl and Caryn Weiss, a sister, Clea (Harry) Fisher of Allentown, PA, nieces and nephews.
