Mr. Weihe died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Alegent Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, due to medical complications.
On June 10th, 1957 at Keesler Air Force Base and w The family moved to Rochester, NY, where Carl took a position teaching English in a high school. Later, the family moved to Florida and Carl worked in home construction. The family moved to Norfolk where Carl worked at Norfolk Rendering Works. They moved to Puerto Rico before they moved to Utah for a short time. He returned to Norfolk in 1974 and once again worked at the Norfolk Rendering Works, which his father had founded.
Over the years, Carl was involved in many businesses with his brother Tom. Together they owned and operated the Norfolk Rendering Works. Carl was the president and CEO of C.E.T. Enterprises, Inc., of Norfolk. He was instrumental in creating and inventing “Mighty Dog†canned dog food in the 1970’s. Carl owned and was the COO of Karem By-Products, of Scottsbluff, NE, and Torrington, WY, the Sandhills By-Products, of Ainsworth, NE, and the Northeast Nebraska Recyclers, of Laurel, NE. Carl also co-owned and was the CEO of Marcelo De Cauguas in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which manufactured bar soaps in Central America. Carl held position with IBP, in Dakota City, NE, Beatrice Foods Company, in Chicago, IL and Darling-Delaware, of Dallas, TX.
Carl is survived by his wife, of 27 years; his children and their spouses, Robert Weihe, of North Carolina, Elaine “Christy†and Robert Shahnazarian, Las Angeles, CA, John and Coleen Weihe, of Lincoln, NE, James and Debbie Weihe, Fort Worth, TX, David and Rosalyn Weihe, of West Lake, CA, and Kathy Sanchez, of Omaha; his step children and their spouses, Julie Klein, of Omaha, Todd and Lois Peterson, of Radcliff, KY, and Christine and Torrey French, of Omaha; 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Tom and Gwen Weihe, of Dublin, OH, Donald and Linda DeLaney, of Florida, and Linda Alexander, of Florida; 10 nieces and nephews.
