Carl R. “Bob” Morris, 73, of Jacksonville, died November 18, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Morgan County, the son of Charles D. and Gladys E. Hurst Morris. He married Verna R. Graves in Bowling Green, Mo. and she survives.

He is survived by two sons, David A. (wife, Charldene) of Jacksonville, and Roy E (wife, Aida) of Wausau, WI.; three daughters, Mary B. (husband Steve) Alexander, Donna D. White, and Tabatha J. Morris, all of Jacksonville; eleven grandchildren, Alexander Morris, Zachariah Morris, David Morris, Donshayia Morris, Anthony Morris, Mondre White, Candy Alexander (special friend TJ Zummak) and Mellisa Alexander, all of Jacksonville, Rachel Morris of Wausau WI., Bobby White of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jessica (husband Nick) Lanctot of Cantrall; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois F. McKean and Frances Reagan, both of Jacksonville.

Bob graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1952. His ancestors migrated from Wales in the 1850â??s and farmed in Morgan County from that time until Bobâ??s retirement in 1995. He was also employed at General Telephone for thirty years. After his retirement he worked part time for Eric Lakin Farms. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Bob was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast, being part of the County Cavalier Motorcycle Club for many years and lifetime member of the AMA. Bob and his wife Verna spent many enjoyable years after his retirement traveling the country in their motor home.
