Carl Preston Young was born October 18, 1958, in Lawrence County, AL, to the late Johnnie James Young Sr. and the late Ellen Young of Courtland, AL. He departed this life on April 19, 2016 at Decatur General Hospital. He accepted Christ at an early age at Jackson Chapel CME Church in Courtland, AL. Carl was a retiree of Goodyear Tire Company after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Harold Young Sr., Thomas Young Sr., and Fred Young Sr.
Mr. Young leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Jeanette Young of Decatur; one daughter, Caressa Young of Decatur; one son, Marquest “Quincy” Young of Decatur; four grandchildren, Kailah Young, Ajel Young, Omariyon Young and Samariyah Young all of Decatur; three sisters, Trullie Watkins and Celestine (James) Gholston both of Decatur, and Cassie (Jimmy) Battle of Huntsville; four brothers, Johnnie James (Ann) Young Jr., and Roy Young Sr. both of Hillsboro, Joe (Charlotte) Young of Courtland, and Rodney (Donna) Young of Decatur; two aunts, Kate Young and Nannie K. Young, both of Courtland; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
