Mr. Mitchell was born June 24, 1955 and passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Pioneer, LA. He is preceded in death by his son, Justin Lamar Rawls; and parents, C.T. Rawls and Ruth Rawls.
Farming seemed to run through his veins from a young boy, he lived and breathed it. He taught his sons and grandsons everything his father taught him. He loved farming even with all the ups and downs that come with it. He made a successful career of farming.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father. His love for his wife and children was unconditional like no other. He was a man of great integrity and his word.
Mitchell’s life came to an end when the lord called him home. Mitchell passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his love ones who will honor his legacy by living life to the fullest.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
His smile was contagious and he found laughter in most all situations. The legacy he leaves behind was his greatest treasure, which is his FAMILY whom will keep his memory alive.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Stansell Rawls of Pioneer; children, Shane and wife, Kim of Pioneer, Katrina and husband, J.W. of Pioneer, and Stacy of Oak Grove; grandchildren, Zach, Dillon, Chandon, Landon, C.J., Anthony, Austin, Dalton, Brenda Kay, Mary-Grace, Jordan, Haley, and Abby; 15- great grandchildren; siblings, Shirley and husband, Randy of Kansas, Travis and wife, Linda of Rayville, and Linda of Epps; brothers-and sister-in-laws, Mary, Bennie and wife, Shelvia, Joyce and husband, Clyde, Barbara and husband, Therrell, and Kenny and wife, Rebecca; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Crossroads Hospice of Delhi. They appreciate all of their staff for the great care they have given them during this time.
