Carl Louis Emmel, 82, of Shinnston passed away May 16, 2011 after an extended illness. He was born July 21, 1928, the son of the late Louis Andrew Emmel and Margaret Helen Emmel. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Junior Emmel. Carl was an Army Veteran and a lifelong coal miner. Left to cherish his memory are loving wife, Sarah Mackey Emmel at home; daughter, Carla Wilhelm of Clarksburg; sisters, Margaret Leville and her husband, Joe, of Fairmont, and Betty Jean Palmer and her husband, John of Ohio; grandchildren, Ian Nicholas Wilhelm and Andrew Louis Wilhelm all of Clarksburg.
