Carl J. Maggert age 66 of Sanford, passed into Eternal Life on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. He was born May 31, 1951 in Alpena, MI to the late Art and Freida (Seidel) Maggert. Carl was raised in Atlanta, MI, graduating in 1969 from Alpena High School. He graduated from college in 1972 and 1998.

Carl married the former Margaret Bowman in Atlanta, MI in 1973 and spent over 45 years together raising their children. He was a master mechanic and retired from Midland Ford after 35 years of dedicated service and being a resource for many in the area. Carl enjoyed traveling around the United States in a R.V, with a camp at the Soo Locks being a favorite. His best times were spent playing his banjo with his son and grandson, never going anywhere without a banjo and a bible in his van. Carl loved the Lord and was a devout Christian. He lived his faith and his mission trip to build a church in Alaska was one he never forgot. Although he enjoyed many things in life, his family and the time he spent with them, was his life. May we never forget his smiling face and be content knowing we will meet again.

Surviving besides his wife Margaret are 4 children, son, Matthew (Katie) Maggert and their children, Madisyn and Hunter; daughter, Gwendolyn (Dan) Heser and their children Elizabeth, Nathan, Abigail, and Angel; daughter, Tiffany (Sam) Stockero and their children William and Rosemarie Harding; daughter, Emily Maggert; his siblings, Rick (Donna) Maggert and Rose (Blackie) Morgan; many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.. The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care they have provided for Carl and his family.
