Carl Henry Yauch, 91, of Centralia, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born January 29, 1924 in Centralia, son to Aaron and Bertha (Noller) Yauch. He married Erma Jean Owen on June 12, 1947 and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2015.

Carl is survived by a son, Steve Yauch of Centralia; two daughters, Jill Watson of Centralia and Carla Taylor and husband Pat of Salem; two grandsons, Dallas Watson and Dylan Taylor and wife Emily; one great granddaughter, Madalyn Arnold and another great-granddaughter on the way; a brother, Arthur Yauch of Spanish Lake, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of more than 67 years; four brothers, George Yauch, Richard Yauch, Charlie Yauch, and E.E. Yauch; and two sisters, Louise Schlageter and Amelia Altenbaumer. Carl served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for many years as a machinist for Klein Armature Works.

He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Central City and also a member of the Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055. He was a handyman and enjoyed gardening, listening to music and spending time with his family. His family describes Carl as being an excellent cook.
