Carl Franklin “Frank” Williams, Jr., age 72, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by family. He was born April 16, 1946 in Atlanta, GA to the late Carl F. Williams, Sr. and Ethel Smith Williams. Frank, as he was known by his friends and family, had a great love for the outdoors and spent a lot of his time in his garden.

Frank had a kind soul and gentle hands and found great joy in worm farming and hatching chicken eggs. He was very creative and used his creativity to build ponds and as a freelance photographer. He enjoyed many things but most of all he had a great love for the speedway. If he wasn’t out in the garden or creating something with his hands, you could find Frank at West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg, GA., Seven Flags Speedway in Douglasville or racing go-carts at the Penton Go-Cart track.

Frank faithfully and selflessly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. During his time in the service he earned the Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnamese Service Medal with 4 Stars and Vietnamese Campaign Medal.
