Mr. Carl Edward Newman, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, at his home with his family at his side.
He was born in Ducktown, Tennessee on March 30, 1939. Carl was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and collecting old model cars. Carl also loved all of his family and found much pleasure in spending time with them. Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. Dewey Newman and the late Mrs. Minnie Faultner Newman. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters; Mr. Dewy Newman, Mr. Lester Newman, Mrs. Hazel Weeks, Mrs. Lela Bigham, and Mrs. Lillie Smith. And by his stepson, Kelvin White. Mr. Carl Newman is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mrs. Lillie Ruth Tipton Newman. And by his four children; son and daughter in law, Lynn and Jevonah Newman of Cleveland, TN; daughter and son in law, Mrs. Lynette and Ryan Ragan; daughter, Rebekka Marie White; and son and daughter in law, Sean and Megan White all of Dalton. Mr. Newman is also survived by three grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters in law; four brothers in law; and many loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving Mr. Newman are his twin sisters, Mrs. Carzell Hughes; brother, Jimmy Newman both of Dalton, and Herbert Newman of Copperhill, TN.
