Carl E. Ulmer, 82, formerly of Heritage Lane, Anthony Township, Lycoming County, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Zion Grove, Columbia County.
Carl and his wife, the former Shirley D. Stroup, would have observed their 57th wedding anniversary on November 7, 2010.
Carl was a member of the Anthony Baptist Church and the High Rock Hunting Club in Trout Run.
Carl, along with his brother Leon, operated the former Garden View Dairy in Old Lycoming Township.
Carl was a man that was certain of the “blessed hope” in his Savior. Because of that, he was a helpful man of his word in all his relationships toward family, neighbors and customers.
Born June 11, 1928 in Anthony Twp., Lycoming Co., he was the son of Watson and Mary Alice Getz Ulmer.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Zion Grove are a son, Daniel C. (Susan) of Jersey Shore; daughter, Julie A. (Kelly) Knowlden of Zion Grove; brother, Leon of Linden; a twin sister, Clara Hauser of Towanda; grandchildren, Keith (Katlyn) Knowlden, Carrie (Thomas) Wiley, Curtis and Kathryn Knowlden, Erin (Kurt) Roberts, Michelle Madigan, Rebecca and Nathan Ulmer, John-Marc and Jesse Terre-Blanche and a great grandson, Edmund Knowlden.
Carl was predeceased by a daughter, Joy Madigan; brothers, Paul and Glen and a sister, Kathryn Ulmer.
