Carl Edward Pendleton, 86, died Monday Jan. 7, 2013 in Franklin. He was a resident of Whiteland. Carl was born Sept. 15, 1926 in Adair Co, Kentucky to Ollie and Martha Ann (Gaskins) Pendleton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He married Wanda Lee West on Oct.31, 1949; they were married for 63 years.
Carl was employed with Kingan and Company, a meat packing company, then High Grade Company. In the 60′s he went to work for Commercial Love Lace company as a dock worker; retiring in 1980. He enjoyed being outdoors, bird hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and playing cards. He liked watching sports and was a fan of Purdue University Basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Teamsters Local 135.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Pendleton of Whiteland, two children, Teresa Ward of Greenwood and Jeff Pendleton of Missouri, two sisters, Ruby English and Ruth (Eddie) Hutchison both of Kentucky, two brothers, Bobby (Sandy) Pendleton of Whiteland and Vidus (Nina) Pendleton of Franklin, five grandchildren, Jeremy (April) Pendleton of Greenwood, Lindsey Ward of Greenwood, Jason (Wendy) Pendleton of Indianapolis, Jacob and Jessica Pendleton of Missouri, five great-grandchilden, Mason Pendleton, Samantha Pendleton, Corbin Petree, Logan Petree and Elijah Pendleton, daughter-in-law, Carla Pendleton of Indianapolis and special friends, Larry and Jean Shoemaker of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry Pendleton, two brothers, Howard Pendleton and Kenneth “Kenny” Pendleton and son-in-law, William Curtis “Bill” Ward.
