Carl C. Miller, age 87 of Midland, died Friday April 1, 2016 at his residence. The son of the late Burt and Ethel (Chapman) Miller was born in Midland on September 2, 1928 where he was raised and educated.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Carl had been employed with the City of Midland at the Grace A. Dow Library until his retirement in 1987 after 17 years of service. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, baseball and many other sports on TV. Carl was very mechanically inclined and was always tinkering on things.

He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Gold Circle. On December 27, 1951 in Beaverton he married the former Nota “Nelda” Hancock and after 37 years of marriage she died on November 11, 1989. Carl was a very devoted, loving and caring husband to Nelda and she meant the world to him. Together they enjoyed going to their cabin on Tobacco River.

Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Barb Naugle of Midland, Sue (Rick) Stone of Gladwin, Lori (Rod) Grove of Beaverton, Teri (Tom) Boettcher of Hope, Rich (Judy) Miller of Beaverton, Bob (Jill) Miller of Midland, Steve (Jodi) Brubaker of Beaverton, Rick (Laurie) Brubaker of Three Rivers, Michigan.

In addition to his parents and wife Carl was preceded in death by 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.
