Carl Anthony “Bud” Strange, 87, of LaSalle, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Aperion Care in Spring Valley.
Bud was born September 9, 1933 in LaSalle to George and Mary (Battaglia) Strange. He served in the United States Army for two years, stationed in Austria and Germany.
Bud married Mary Ann Maurice on July 14, 1956 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church with Monsignor S.D. Bernardi, officiating. He was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, LaSalle, St. Hyacinth’s Church, LaSalle, Holy Name Men’s Club, and was a Third Degree knight with the LaSalle Knights of Columbus.
Bud worked for Westclox in Peru for 31 years and was a custodian at LaSalle-Peru High School for 18 years until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary; son, Tim (Guylene) Strange of LaSalle, and two grandchildren, Nichol and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edmund “Eddie” Strange. Pallbearers will be Jordan Strange, Roger Thompson, Mike Sapienza, Joe Maurice, Dave Torres and Rich Schmidt.
