Carl A. Mearns, 89, of Lost Creek passed away on Saturday December 5, 2009 at the Meadowview Manner Nursing Facility. Mr. Mearns was born on August 18, 1920 in Tioga, WV, a son of the late Ray and Eva M. Legg Mearns.
Carl was a life member of the International Order of the Odd Fellows, who served in the U.S. Navy during the time of WWII, and greatly enjoyed to hunt and fish with his family.
Surviving Carl is his wife of 66 years, Genevieve M. Wooddell Mearns; a son, Ray A. Mearns and his wife Donna of Elkins; two daughters, Patty Wagner and her husband David of Parsons, and Linda Maul of Lost Creek; brother, Samuel Mearns, of Mt. Vernon, OH; two sisters Martha Cunningham and Lelia Page, both of MD; 10 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Mr. Mearns was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Mearns and Colleen Thompson.
