Carey J Schieding
53 years old
January 14, 1969-October 31, 2022
Carey passed away peacefully at Kaplan house in Danvers surrounded by her family after a courageous
battle with colon cancer. Her smile always lit up the room even in her final days.
She had a love for animals, especially her horses and ponies over the years that she rode like the wind.
She was predeceased by her beloved bulldogs and companions Bella and Block.
She also took great joy in the outdoors and hiking, which her and her partner Rick Westhaver would do
throughout her treatments, against the odds. Rick was a support system throughout her fight, and they
rallied together often times while cheering on the Bruins.
No matter what she did or the company she was in she left a huge impression on people with her bright
personality, kindness, and smile.
Carey was one of five daughters, to the late Elizabeth and John Heckman. The close bond they shared
carried through to the last day as she was surrounded every day and night by her four sisters. She is
Gauthier of Middleton, Bonnie and Joseph Amore of Middleton and her brother-in-law Kenny Gauthier
of New Hampshire. She was also predeceased by her grandmother Veronica A Pitcher.
Bonnie and Carey graduated together and spent the next 35 years as close friends. They supported each other in all of life’s ups and downs.
She was mother and friend to her daughter Jacqueline Brackett which was her whole reason for being.
She was an incredible Gram Gram with the “don’t tell your mother” adventures to her oldest grandson,
Ryan. She awaited the arrival of her youngest grandson, Declan who spent the last week alongside her
napping peacefully. She is survived by Jacqueline and Ryan Brackett of Peabody, and grandsons Ryan and Declan Brackett.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and friends who adored
her. Although her physical being has left this world her spirit will remain forever in all who loved her.
