Carey Dean “Gary” Whitaker, 65, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, at Elkhart General Hospital.
Gary as his family and friends called him was born on December 11, 1953, in Niles, Michigan to the late Floyd M. Whitaker and Marybeth (Smith) Null.
He is survived by his four sisters, Cindra Mikel, Beverly (Wendell) Hochstetler, Lynn E. (Larry) West and Dawn (Tony) Russo; brother Louis C. Null; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Tonya Himes.
Gary attended Niles High School and worked as a welder for many years at Mor-Ryde in Elkhart.
