Candice Nicole Kirkland, 41, of Elkhart, passed away at 9:14 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at her home.
Candice was born October 27, 1969, in Chicago, Ill.
She is survived by her father, Thurman L. Kirkland; mother Jacqueline (Robinson) Kirkland; stepmother Ruth E. Smith; three sons, Ryan, Christian C. and James M. Kirkland, all of Elkhart; three sisters, Latania Wilson, Brandi Kirkland and Sydney Kirkland, all of Chicago; and two brothers, Anthony D. Smith and Michael S. Kirkland, both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by brother Michael L. Smith.
Candice was a graduate of Sullivan High School in Chicago and moved to Elkhart in 1997. She was a loving homemaker and was employed as a CNA.
