Candy attended Mary Hardin Baylor College graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters of Education. She held a Masters of Education as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Candy taught in Temple, Killeen and Belton ISD. She also taught teachers for Special Education Alternative Certification program for four years.

She proudly served on Gov. Perrys Special Education Committee board for four years. Candy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW in Belton. She is survived by her husband Michael Hawks of Belton, daughter; Sihibon of Temple, three sons; Robert and wife Bettina Massar of Troy, Daniel and wife Carrie Massar of Katy and Kenneth and wife Gwen Massar of Temple.

Also Surviving are twelve grandchildren; Wendy Suarez, Marissa Crawford, Brandon Crawford, Ashley Crawford, Mallory Patterson, Lacy Massar, Emma Massar, Bryton Massar, Cameron McKinzie, Dacry Massar, Alex Casavant and Madilyn Ford. Four great-grandchildren; Damon Johnson, Kyla Owens, Kelyn Patterson and Bryer Patterson.

She is also survived by two sisters; Mickey Winingar of Columbia, MO, Stephanie Howell of Florida and brother, Kevin McKeon of Leander, TX. She is preceded in death by her daughter Valerie Massar, parents; Louis and Geraldine McKeon, sister; Linda McKeon and nephew Stacy McKeon.
