On April 1, 2022, Candace Witt Wyland, passed away. Better known as “Candy,” she was born on February 29,1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Betty and John Bartelheim.
Candy was a rehab nurse for over 25 years, and was married over 40 years to the love of her life, Alfred Leroy Wyland. Her and Al lived a very full and exciting life together. Candy was extremely proud of her husband and his service to his country, as a retired Master Chief in the U.S. Navy. Her greatest loves were her husband, her family, and her many dogs.
Anyone who knew Candy knew she loved to cook and entertain. She was an amazing cook and she loved to talk and tell stories. She was creative and loved to sew and make blankets. She was also an amazing gift-giver and very generous. Candy was an extremely strong woman, and she was a fighter, who had a big personality. You knew when she was in the room.
Candy was a follower of Jesus and a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Glen Burnie. She loved to sing and was in her choir at church. We rejoice that she is healed and in the arms of her Savior.
Candy was predeceased by her devoted husband of over 40 years, Alfred Leroy Wyland; her loving parents, Betty and John Bartelheim; and her dear sister, Chloe Vedelhoff.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Barbara Benze, granddaughter, Sara Brown, and great-granddaughter, Kristen Benze; her beloved siblings, Michael Bartelheim, Cathy Bartelheim, and Carine Bartelheim; and her dear nephews, Steve Turpin, John Turpin, Matthew Bartelheim; nieces, Cristen Bartelheim and Cara Bartelheim; grandniece, McKenzie Turpin; and grandnephews, Dylan Turpin and Kaidan Turner.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will no longer be any death, there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain, the first things have passed away.”
