He retired from College Park Police Department as a lieutenant. He is survived by his loving wife, Dallas Burke; mother, Marilyn Burke; children, Shannon Harrod Reyes, Katie Burke, Andy Burke, Shay Matthews and Anna Matthews; brother, Brian Burke.
