Calvin C. Ornburn, 77, of Moberly, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, February 4th, 2020. He was born April 20th, 1942 in Moberly to William Henry, Jr. and Frances (Slavens) Ornburn. Calvin was raised on the family farm East of town, this is a Land Grant farm that has been in his family since 1836.
He owned and operated the M&T Garage in Clark for several years before returning back to the family farm, after his father’s passing. Calvin also worked as a mechanic at Noll Motors and McGraw Edison before starting work at A.B. Chances (Hubble) in Centralia for 31 years, retiring in 2012.
Calvin married Darlene Cable of Clark, MO on August 20, 1960 and she survives of the home. Also surviving are his children; Marty Ornburn, Tammy Overy and husband Scott, and Wanda Ornburn and husband Joel Davis all of Moberly, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and also his in-laws, Donal and Mary Cable.
Calvin was a supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for 12 years and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
