Cal passed to his Lord on August 27th at St. Al’s Hospital of natural causes. He was 82 years old.
Born in Moscow, Idaho on June 19, 1933 in to the Smith Family. In 1938 he was adopted and raised by Claud and Bellemetta White in Lucile, Idaho. They ranched and lived on Cow Creek and Skukumchuck Ranch, both in Idaho County on the Salmon River. He attended school in Lucile and Riggins.
He married Agnes Paul in Riggins and served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Lewis Washington. Later he farmed in Wilder, Murphy and Hagerman Valley. Cal and Agnes were blessed with 3 daughters and 2 sons during this time, all working together on the farms.
After farming he started Cal White Construction working on log homes all over the Western U.S. and married Rosie Roberts in 1982 in Mammoth Lakes, California. As a young man Cal was a rodeo cowboy loving the ranch life, riding all over the Idaho County mountains and tending cow camp for his Dad. He was a “fun-loving” man and ran with a pack of Good ‘Ol Boys always having fun telling old stories and making new stories.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie, of 33 years; children, Jan (Ron) Solders of Wendell, ID, Karen (Dennis) Sawyer of Pollock, ID, Ron (Alyson) White of Star, ID, Richard (Kim) White of Yucca Valley, CA. and Renee (Mark) Boytim of Spring Lake, MI; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 nephews, Claud (Charlotte) Smith, Larry (Sue Ellen) Smith of Pendleton, OR and Rick (Brenda) Paul of Spokane, WA; 1 niece, Vicki (Dave) Himle of Bakersfield, CA; and 1 cousin, Tom (Ann) Helm of Hood River, OR.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bellemetta; father, Claud; and sister, Loine Smith.
