Calvin Jensen
Leslie and Alda Jensen and their two daughters proudly welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Calvin Jensen into their family on February 27th, 1973. He was raised in the North Ogden area. Even before he could walk, he would be found tinkering around the house and the shed; he was a mini-MacGyver. He had a childhood full of camping trips, fishing, running all over Oaklawn Park with his friends, and discovering outdoor wonders. Calvin wouldn’t have had his childhood any other way. Calvin’s smart wits and teasing tactics kept his parents laughing and smiling, his family and friends, too.
Cal maintained his focus on auto mechanics. He attended Weber High School with the class of 1991/1992. Calvin enjoyed using his knowledge to fix anything (broken or not) that he could find. This led him to a career in automotive maintenance. He earned many ASE certifications. Calvin held other various jobs and titles as well. Another one of Calvin’s accomplishments was building a house in Tremonton, Utah.
A deep bond and part of his life was spent with Lisa Cheever. Calvin and Lisa’s dreams came true on December 30, 2005, with a little bundle of joy they named Dakota Jensen. Not only did Dakota have his name but had Calvin’s natural ability and love of tinkering on cars and anything else he could do, and Lisa had his heart. It was hard to find Calvin anywhere without his little buddy. Hanging out with Dad and Grandpa Jensen brought the three of them together.
Family and friends witnessed the real-life struggles that he endured. The most difficult one was having to leave his beloved family, friends, and especially Dakota behind. He was cherished and loved by those who knew him. The family shares a common and unifying emotion, “We feel as if Calvin is still here watching over us.”
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and other family members. As well as his beloved dogs Copper and Xan, who will be beyond excited to see him again. He is survived by his son Dakota Jensen, sister Pamela Jensen, sister Laurel (Lee) Cahoon, Lisa Cheever, Dakota’s other siblings Shay and Amara, along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A special thanks to all the people who supported Calvin (especially Chuck Dalton and Becky Bird.) There will be no services at this time.
