C. Lorraine (Cooper) White, passed on April 28th, 2017. She was born on January 19th, 1929 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Lorraine was full of spunk, and lit up every room she walked into with her beautiful smile, her elegant charm, and her quick witted humor. She attended Scottsdale High school, and graduated from ASU (Arizona State Teaching College) with a Degree in Teaching. She went on to teach in the Madison School district in Phoenix, and overseas in Landsberg, Germany where she taught children of servicemen on the Air Force Base. Lorraine was crowned Miss Scottsdale in 1947. Lorraine married her wonderful husband Malcolm White, who was the first Mayor of Scottsdale who created the image and coined the phrase “Scottsdale, The West’s Most Western Town”. Lorraine also worked at the Tee-Bar-Tee Theatre in Old Town Scottsdale that Malcolm owned as his ticket seller, and she would fondly tell the story of a time when Malcolm was out of town. She had to use her car to get popcorn and such, so she gave herself and the rest of the staff a raise. Lorraine was an incredibly generous and loving person, and holidays at her house are remembered fondly by her family and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her mother Charlotte “Lottie” Cooper, her father Henry Cooper, husband Malcolm White, brothers William “Enos” Cooper, John Cooper, Henry “Red” Cooper, and Benny Cooper, sisters Vonda Parker, Arna Mae Boycks. And daughter Malaine Gibson. She is survived by her brother Jack Cooper, daughter Janie White, and grandchildren Malcolm Gibson, Alison Gibson, Rachel White and Michael White.
