C. Everett Sutton – December 1946 – January 2022.
Claxton Everett Sutton of Miami passed to the hands of our Lord on Sunday, January 23nd, 2022. He was the son of Claxton McClenny and Doris Taylor Sutton of Rosewood, NC, and the brother of Karen Cox, all deceased.
Everett is survived by the love of his life, his wonderful wife, Debbie and their three sons Kenny; Charlie; Casey, one daughter, Krissy, his son-in-law, Chris Traina, his granddaughters Stephanie and Evie, and his niece Kym Cocoran of Gastonia and her father, Leon Cox as well as a wonderful extended family of Suttons and Taylors. The love and success of his wife and children were always (and will remain) the most valued aspect of his life. He will also miss his adopted brother, Clark Settles.
Everett graduated from Aycock High School in Pikeville NC in 1965 and Guilford College in Greensboro in 1969.
In 1987, Everett resigned from his Special Agent position (DARC) to follow his second great passion, big fast boats. He was hired as General Manager of Magnum Marine for twelve years. He later served as the project manager for a great friend, Stew Leonard, to oversee the most awesome boat project of his life – a 70 ft, 81 mph open sport yacht, custom designed and built by John Cosker – still the fastest boat in its class in the world – Everett’s pride and true swan song.
