Obituary of C. Allan Raymond
RAYMOND, C. Allan “Al” of Au Gres, formerly of Saginaw, passed away August 16 at the James E. Cartwright Care Center. He was born June 12, 1947 to Chet and Ruth (Littlewood) Raymond. He was a 1965 graduate of Arthur Hill High School; he then attended Ferris State University. He was partnered with his father and brother in the Raymond-Levi Insurance Agency for many years. During that time, he served as President of Independent Insurance Agents of Saginaw. He was also a long-term member of the Bay City Country Club where he served on the board. He recently retired from Magline.
Al was an avid golfer. As a teenager, he caddied several seasons at the Buick Open. He also participated in the Transamerica Senior Golf Championship. Al enjoyed all sports.
Surviving are his children: Chet Raymond of Denver, CO, Ann (Keith) Rybak of Wixom, MI, and Jill (Robert) Shalett of Washington, DC; grandchildren: Tyler, Luke, Austin, Chase, and Olivia Rybak, Stella and Anita Shalett; sisters: Mary Lynn (Dale) Merkle, Janie Raymond, and Carol Dwan; and brother, Randy (Patti) Raymond. His several nieces and nephews have many fond memories of their Uncle Al. Also surviving are his companion, Sandy Thompson, and the mother of his children, Toni Forton Raymond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Michael Dwan; and his special aunt, Vi Wharton.
He will be missed by family and his many friends—all benefactors of his kind spirit.
