C. Alan Shingleton, 54 of Clarksburg, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at United Hospital Center. He was born in Clarksburg on February 9, 1956, son of Argyle F and Patty A Smith Shingleton of Clarksburg. In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his wife Allena M Johnson Shingleton; two sons, Shawn W Shingleton and fiancée Tabby Scott, Spelter, Chris A Shingleton and wife Samantha, Clarksburg; one daughter, Marlayna A Shingleton, at home; one sister, Debby Randolph and husband Alan, Lost Creek; one brother, Brad Shingleton and wife Terry, Clarksburg; two aunts, Ernestine Dutchess and Allene Lampley both of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Shingleton; nieces and nephews, Scott Shingleton, Lori Smarr, Serena Julian, Katy Shingleton, Emily Daugherty, Kara Randolph, Luke Randolph, Jimmy McManus and Ashley Thompson; great nephews, Joshua Julian, Aydin McManus and Brennen McManus. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cecil and Edna Shingleton; maternal grandparents, Guy and Lillian Smith. Alan graduated with the first Liberty High School class in 1974.
