Byron Douglas Johnson, age 60, of Conrad, passed away September 2, 2016 at a local care facility in Conrad, MT.
Byron loved his 3 wheeled bike he purchased along with his helmet and the independence it gave him. The Choteau folks could see him burning rubber around the corners on 2 wheels on the streets of Choteau. Byron shared his jovial warmth with everyone he met; warmth which he carried with him in sportsmanship. As a member of the Special Olympics, he earned medals in bike racing and bowling-achievements of which he was very proud.
Byron believed in and loved Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. He loved anything related to Elvis Presley and felt privileged to have been able to go to Graceland twice in his life. He loved listening to music, especially old country classics, and could be caught singing along with a smile. Dolly Parton and John Wayne were two of his most adored icons. Byron also cheered avidly for his favorite sports teams, the Buffalo Bills and the Montana Grizzlies. He always looked forward to sharing a fishing trip or playing a hand of cards with friends and family. Byron had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease everyone. The sweet rays of sunshine his life brought to ours will truly be missed.
Survivors are his wife, Pamela; his sisters, Florence Brown (Roy) of Forsyth, Bonnie Soulsby (Raymond) of Stanford, Carol Anderson (Swede) of Missoula, and Helen Johnson of Lewistown; sister-in-law Hildie Johnson; cousin, Alice Honrud; and special friend, Diane Bishop. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Those who have preceded Byron in death include his parents; and his brothers, Leonard, Leland, John (Steve), and William (Billy).
