Burton James (“Jim”) Naberhuis, Jr., age 76 of Troy, IL, passed away on January 2, 2021, at Memorial Hospital. Jim was born on February 11, 1944, in Denver, Colorado. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Jim was also proud of his father, Burton James Naberhuis, Sr. who fought in WWII but perished in a plane crash. Jim had a life-long interest in airplanes, could identify the type of plane just by hearing its sound, and loved to skydive. He loved all things Marines and had the utmost respect for all military members, past and present. Jim frequently attended Friday fish fries at the American Legion. Jim had a passion for knowledge and robust debate; he earned his Bachelors degree at the University of Maryland.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Burton James Naberhuis, Sr. and Dorotha Beecher, nee Hendrickson, and his third wife, Dian Naberhuis, nee Tanner.

Jim is survived and mourned by his daughter, Karey Sutton, nee Naberhuis of Golden, Colorado; stepchildren, Frankie Rudis of Louisiana, Cathy McCammack of Illinois, and Chad Hildreth of Illinois; two grandchildren, Norah Sutton and Ava Sutton of Colorado; step-grandchildren, Jordan Rudis of Louisiana and Cole Rudis of Illinois, Brad McCammack and Jillian McCammack of Illinois, Hunter Hildreth and Holly Anne Hildreth of Illinois; and his first wife and life-long friend, Donna Naberhuis, nee Lower of Maryland.
