Mr. Burton E. Bond, age 84, of Milford, beloved husband of Eunice Nelson Bond, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009 at home after a lengthy illness. Son of the late Edmund Bond and Mildred Bedell Bond, he was born in Bridgeport on March 14, 1925.

 

 

He retired from Jenkins Valve in Bridgeport where he was the chief engineer for many years, and later from Adamas Carbide in New Jersey as East Coast Representative

Serving 2 ½ years during WWII, in the Pacific Theater with the US Marine Corps 8th 155 mm Gun Battalion, Burton was part of a highly decorated unit which was honored with a Citation for Bravery. He was a member of VFW Post 9060, Stratford. Burton was an active member of the Milford Men’s Club.

 

In addition to his wife of 61 years, survivors include his two devoted daughters, Sally Aiken of Pittsburgh, PA and Susan Kulik and her husband James of Wellington, FL Four loving grandchildren Travis and Jesse Aiken, Rebecca Rowland and her husband Andrew and Joshua Kulik.  He is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn Boos and her husband Raymond of Stratford and Beverly Baumgart of Newtown, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, William Aiken, a sister Jean Bachman and an infant daughter.
