Burton Barrett Jenkins, 65 of Tunnelton, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his brother-in-law and sister-in-law home with family by his side after a long battle with Agent Orange and cancer. He was born February 13, 1947 in Tunnelton, son of the late Joseph Franklin and Rosella”Dot” Cale Jenkins. Burt graduated in 1967 from Tunnelton High School. He was in the US Army where he was a expert rifleman and worked as a radio mechanic during the Vietnam War. He was also in the 3rd of 6th artillery at Camp Plieku in Vietnam. Burt worked at Jen Mar for 30 plus years. He loved working with wood, tools, computers, train sets and flying remote control planes. He is survived by one daughter, Penny Thomas and Tim, Scott Depot, WV; one grandson, Jeffrey; two brothers, William Franklin Jenkins and Kim, Jacksonville, NC, Richard Allen Jenkins and Alice, Liltfield, KY, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thomas Franklin and Patricia Ann Watkins Pratt, Tunnelton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Donna Pratt, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Burt was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Ann Pratt Jenkins on June 25, 2012.
