Buford Ray Cowley, the son of the late Fred and Dovella Cowley was born on June 28, 1955 in Decatur, Alabama. Mr. Cowley died October 18, 2012 at Hillside Hospital Emergency Department in Pulaski, Tennessee.
Ray grew up in Lawrence County, Alabama and graduated from Central High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of Calhoun College.
Ray always had a smile and made many friends along life’s path. He was married to Jacqueline Cohen and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred Jr. and Robert Cowley.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Buford Ray Cowley Jr.;one daughter, Jessica Mechelle Cowley both of Decatur; four sisters, Geneva Ross of Decatur, Debra (Dr. Ben) Echols and Constance Ndukwe both of Houston, Texas and Mitze (Ike) Eze of Lithonia, Georgia; three brothers, Oscar (Ella) Cowley and William /Cowley both of Decatur and Ray (Monica) Cowley of Oxford; three grandchildren, Ariyah Cowley, Braelyn Cowley and Marley Stevenson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin other relatives and friends.
