Bueford Daniel Shumate, Sr., age 76, born in Monroe, MI on October 10, 1943 on a Sunday. He died peacefully with family on February 8, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Better known as Daniel; he served in the United States Army. Daniel was a respecting, hardworking and dedicated man of God. After living in several states, he found where his heart would call home in Georgia. He is survived by three sons, Danny Ray, Danny Jr. and Clint Shumate; two daughters, Denene Carpenter and Angie Mckee-Roth; a brother, Reggie Shumate and sister Ruthie Weber; former wife, Virginia Dyer; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was also blessed to have his family in Tennessee, Michigan, his neighbors and numerous others. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Rose Shumate; a brother, Joel Shumate; a sister, Susie Robinson. Daniel enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He had a passion for fishing, collecting classic cars and submerging his feet in the white sand at the beach. He was a devoted father and would bend over backwards to lend a hand. He was looked up to in his neighborhood, he would always have his garage door open which basically meant, “Come on in”. His smile would lift your spirits up no matter what you were going through. He will be missed greatly but now everyone has a Guardian Angel for life that will fly so high beyond our sight, but he will always look down upon us.
